Mounting

Mounting is a combination of adhesive and pressure that allows layers upon layers of material to adhere to each other in order to form one solid piece.

Diecutting & Laser Diecutting

Diecutting is the process of using sharp steel rules to cut special shapes for labels, boxes and containers from printed sheets. Diecutting can be done on either flatbed or rotary presses. Rotary diecutting is usualy done inline with the printing.

What can not be diecut using a steel rule die can often be produced with laser cutting. Laser die cutting uses focussed beam to burn through materials. Depending on the material, thickness and dimension, geometric shapes can be cut to within thousandths of an inch accuracy.

Turned Edge

Turned edge is similar to mounting. A combination of adhesive and pressure is used. The difference is the outer layer of material is folded over the edge of usually a thick board and a liner sheet to cover the turned edges. This forms a very clean, finished look.

Coating

Different coatings can be applied to provide protection to paper or inks, or sometimes simply to create subtle or dramatic visual effects. They can be used overall or in spot applicatiosn while maintaining tight registration. Some examples of coatings are aqueous, varnish, UV, lamination or spray holographic.

Embossing

Embossing is accomplished by pressing paper against a metal die under high heat. Embossing can be done with foil stamping at the same time. While most uncoated papers can be embossed, heavier papers allow for deeper and sharper embossing due to the thickness. When embossing different types of paper for the same job (e.g. text and cover), itis important to have the printer work in conjunction with the die-maker. By having this coordination of resources, the die can be designed with the greatest flexibility required.

Foil Stamping

Foil Stamping, also called leaf stamping, will create a smooth opaque finish that contrasts with the texture of the paper. Stamping films usually come in two types: metallic and pigmented. Metallic film stamps are cleaner on paper; however, pigmented films have a much wider selection of colors.

Screen Printing

Sometimes referred to as silk screening, screen printing is a process that prints on almost any surface. From one to four color process. For short run jobs, this process produces very high quality.

INTOgraphics will create handmade samples on tight turnarounds to your specificatiosn for use in presentations or sales meetings. We work with our clients to imagine and execute creative solutions to help you or your client envision the finished project.
